Veteran's Day Celebration

The celebration consists of a parade from the San Elizario cemetery on Thompson Road to the Plazita. Participants include the Grand Marshall, Fort Bliss troops, retired & former soldiers, JROTC Cadets, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, High School bands, the Flag members, cheerleaders, dignitaries, military vehicles, motorcycles, riders on horseback, vintage cars, border patrol cars, etc.

The route is about 2.5  miles long. It ends at the Veterans Memorial Park  where a ceremony is held starting with the presentation of the colors, playing of our National Anthem, recital of the Pledge of Allegiance, invocation, candle lighting ceremony, US Flag ceremony, patriotic music, introduction of elected officials, and speakers, and presentation of the Honorees.
